Sissal has been hit with a vocal health scare just days before she’s due to take the stage in tomorrow night’s Semi-Final Two of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
The Danish representative for Eurovision 2025 has been battling voice issues caused by a recent cold in the last days.
Speaking to DR, Sissal said:
“I was unlucky and caught a heavy cold a few weeks before Eurovision, and it’s affected my vocal cords. I feel okay, but the pressure is intense here in Basel. My routines are off – I’m not eating or training like I usually do. Everything’s a bit upside down.”
On Tuesday morning, Sissal was taken to a doctor in Basel for a vocal examination. Fortunately, the medical assessment provided good news.
“The doctor said my vocal cords are completely white, which is a very good sign. There is some mucus, but no inflammation, which is very positive”
To ensure a full recovery ahead of her semi-final performance, a doctor has prescribed a course of corticosteroids, a common treatment used to reduce inflammation in performers. Additionally, Sissal has been advised to rest her voice and body as much as possible.
Sissal won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025 with the song, “Hallucination”, and will represent Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel. She will perform 11th in Semi-Final Two tomorrow night . Find out more about Sissal below:
