Birmingham City have sent Emil Hansson out on loan to League One side Blackpool
Birmingham City have loaned Swedish winger Emil Hansson to League One club Blackpool for the 2025/26 season.
Hansson only joined Blues from Dutch side Heracles last summer but he was used sparingly in their League One title-winning season due to a series of muscular injuries.
Hansson only played 20 games in League One last season, providing one goal and two assists, and made a further four appearances in the cup competitions.
Blues have added Demarai Gray to their ranks this summer to push Hansson down the left-wing pecking order and manager Chris Davies has deemed his surplus to requirements.
Hansson was omitted from Blues’ pre-season training camp in Portugal at the start of July and didn’t feature in their first two friendlies but Davies did give him a run-out against Port Vale last weekend.
Nonetheless, with Gray and Keshi Anderson ahead of him in Davies’ thinking, Hansson has been allowed to join Blackpool.
Ex-Blues boss Steve Bruce is the manager of the Tangerines and they have already signed Bailey Peacock-Farrell on loan from the club this summer.
