The inaugural edition of the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy will be remembered for ages as India and England put up a display to remember as the five-match Test series ended in a 2-2 draw after all games went to the last day in a dramatic series.

With the two captains, Ben Stokes and Shubman Gill, leading the way with inspirational displays, while various teams from both teams put up memorable displays that saw them enter their names in the history books, as numerous records were shattered across the series that lasted the full quota of 25 days over a period of one and a half months.

KL Rahul – KL Rahul became the first opener to score over 500 runs in a series in England since 2003 from either the home or visiting team. Rahul finished with 532 runs with two centuries and three half-centuries to his name.

Ben Duckett: England star Ben Duckett narrowly beats Yashasvi Jaiswal to the team with an impressive display that saw him score 462 runs at an average of 51.33 and strike-rate of 82.94 with one century and three half-centuries. He scored a vital knock of 147 in the fourth innings of England’s win at Headingley as they chased down a massive total of 371.

Joe Root: Joe Root continued his red-hot form in Test cricket and is closing in on Sachin Tendulkar’s world record for most runs and centuries. Root made 537 runs with three centuries with an average of 67.12.

Shubman Gill – Shubman Gill’s debut series as India’s Test captain was nothing short of a fairytale as the 25-year-old made a record-breaking tally of 754 runs at an average of 75.40 with four centuries to his name.

Harry Brook: Harry Brook continued the dream start to his Test career and was awarded the Player of the Series (POTS) from England’s side. The 26-year-old made 481 runs with two centuries and two half-centuries, one of which was a knock of 99.

Rishabh Pant (WK): Rishabh Pant takes the wicket-keeper batter (WKB) spot despite Jamie Smith’s impressive series. Pant missed the last game but put up a generation display with 479 runs at an average of 68.42, which is the highest run tally by a stumper in a Test series in England. The 27-year-old scored two centuries and three half-centuries. He became only the second WKB in history to score twin tons in a Test match during the series opener at Leeds

Ben Stokes (C): England captain Ben Stokes was a true warrior for the England team and their best bowler in the series with 17 wickets in four matches, including one five-wicket haul and another four-for. Stokes also scored a century in the Manchester Test and ended the series with 304 runs. The 34-year-old gets the nod as the captain of our team based on his experience.

Ravindra Jadeja: Ravindra Jadeja reminded the world why he is the undisputed World No.1 all-rounder with an incredible display that saw him score 516 runs at an average of 86, with one century and five half-centuries to his name. The 36-year-old also took seven wickets with the ball.

Mohammed Siraj: Mohammed Siraj was the star of the show for India as he emerged as the only pacer to bowl in each innings of the series from either team. The 31-year-old impressed with a tally of 23 wickets, which is the joint-highest by an Indian player in a series in England in history. Siraj took two five-wicket hauls. Both helped India register victory with one each at Edgbaston and Oval.

Josh Tongue: Despite being dropped from two test matches, Josh Tongue’s wicket-tally stands out. He is the series’ second-highest wicket-taker with 19 wickets in three matches.

Jasprit Bumrah: Jasprit Bumrah showed his greatness despite not being able to play two matches to manage his workload. In three matches, Bumrah managed 14 wickets, which is the joint-fourth most in the series by an Indian player. He took two five-wicket hauls too.
