The 45-year-old is chasing his 12th PGA Tour title at the FedEx St Jude Championship in Memphis
Justin Rose is in pursuit of his 12th PGA Tour title as he heads into the final round of the FedEx St Jude Championship trailing compatriot Tommy Fleetwood by a single shot.
Fleetwood has a chance to win his first title on the PGA tour, having moved to -14 for the tournament going into Sunday’s final round in Memphis. However, he faces competition from Rose, as well as world number one Scottie Scheffler, who are on -13 and -12 respectively.
If Rose can leapfrog his fellow Englishman and finish in top spot, it would be his first tournament win of 2025, having narrowly missed out on winning The Masters for the first time earlier this year.
The green jacket, of course, went to Rory McIlroy, who claimed the prize that has eluded him throughout his career and became only the sixth man in history to win the Masters, US PGA Championship, Open Championship and US Open titles.
He claimed victory in hugely dramatic fashion, with a tense final round at Augusta seeing the champion decided in a sudden death play-off.
McIlroy had missed a par putt on the 18th hole to finish level with his Ryder Cup team-mate Rose, but a birdie on the first extra hole saw the Northern Irishman emerge triumphant.
While it was a disappointment for Rose, he still bagged a whopping $2.27 million (£1.69 million) for finishing second, with a US Open victory in 2013, together with 24 other professional tournament wins, seeing him boast a vast personal fortune.
His successful career on both the PGA and European Tour has contributed to a staggering estimated net worth of around £31.5m, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Rose shares his wealth with his wife Kate, who he married in 2006. The couple had met six years earlier while she worked at IMG, the company representing the golf star at the time.
Together, they have two children – Leo, born in 2009, and Lottie, born in 2012, while they also launched the Kate and Justin Rose Foundation in 2009 to support children living in poverty in Florida.
Kate is also a former international gymnast, while she served as a board director of the PGA Tour Wives Association between 2006 and 2010.
Rose also revealed the sweet tribute that he makes to his wife of nearly 20 years while out on the course, telling Golf Monthly that he plays with number 99 golf balls because nine is her favorite number, with 99 “doubling the luck”.
In the wake of her husband’s dramatic defeat to McIlroy at this year’s Masters, Kate found herself at the centre of a mystery involving herself and the Northern Irishman.
After he had secured victory, Mclroy was photographed sharing an embrace with a woman at the end of his championship walk, sparking speculation about the identity of the ‘mystery blonde’ he was seen with.
However, it soon emerged that the woman was none other than Kate, with the embrace highlighting the close relationship between the two top Augusta finishers.
Rose himself showed his true colours with some kind words to McIlroy in the wake of his own personal disappointment at the tournament, as he took to social media to write: “I gave it everything…. Congratulations @McIlroyRory on winning @TheMasters and completing the Grand Slam. Very cool sharing the green with you in that moment.
“Thank you Team Rose as always for all the support during the week. We go again.”
