An extensive search is under way for a “vulnerable” 16-year-old boy who was last seen at a seaside resort wearing only his swimming shorts.
Police were alerted at about 14:00 BST on Saturday after Athrun, who is autistic, was reported missing from West Shore Beach in Llandudno, Conwy county, close to the boating lake and playpark.
Det Ch Insp Simon Kneale from North Wales Police said Athrun, who is from South Gloucestershire, was on holiday in the area with his family.
He was described as 6ft (183cm) tall and of slim build, with short dark hair, and police said he may walk with an unusual gait.
He is believed to be wearing only blue and white patterned swim shorts and no footwear.
