Tom Stoltman eased into the 2025 World’s Strongest Man final as he continued his bid for a fourth crown.
The defending world’s strongest man was leading the way in his qualifying group after the first three events on day one of this year’s competition, amassing more points than anyone else to that point putting him in prime position to progress.
With two more events to complete on day two, Stoltman (30) only needed 3.5 more points to guarantee himself a place in the final, but eased into days three and four with another top score in the titan toss.
His 10 reps in 31.97 seconds was far beyond what any of his competitors could produce, meaning he would seal top spot in his qualifying group with an event to spare.
Still, with the competition’s new format for 2025, he still had to complete the stone medley, where he lifted two in 1:05.88 minutes.
In line with that new format, Stoltman will also be starting the final with a headstart over most of his competitors, as his overall qualifying performance was second only to Canadian Mitchel Hooper, meaning he will start the final with nine points to his name.
Tom’s older brother Luke (40) had more work to do on the second day of qualifying having finished day one in joint-second in his group.
However, a similarly strong performance in the titan toss put him in a good position himself.
Luke completed nine reps in a time of 34.81 seconds – the most of anyone in his qualifying group – to earn a valuable five points.
That meant that a top two finish in his group in the stone medley would seal his progress through to the final, and a win would see him top his own group.
Luke delivered exactly that, lifting three in a time of 1:09.34 to claim all five available points and lead his group’s standings.
In the overall rankings of those who qualified, Luke placed fifth, meaning he will start the final with six points.
The final begins at 6pm BST with the carry and hoist event, the first of seven challenges this year’s best strongmen will have to overcome to call themselves 2025’s World’s Strongest Man.
It will be Tom Stoltman’s seventh time competing in the final after his victories in 2021, 2022 and 2024, while Luke is making his sixth appearance in the final in his 10th time competing at the event.
