The best of Medway is to be showcased at a regeneration conference, demonstrating how the Towns are a great place for investors.
Top council staff are attending the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) in Leeds to spread the word about redevelopment projects and economic growth.

The UKREiiF is an industry event attended by local authorities, infrastructure management companies, banks and investors, as well as businesses and government departments in order to attract attention for schemes and funding.
Medway Council will be at the conference to promote projects such as Chatham Creative Quarters, which aims to re-envision Chatham as Intra, town centre, Dockyard and maritime areas, four interconnected areas of creative ambition and new business growth.
They will also discuss the £9 million of Future High Street Fund which has been used for transforming Chatham through The Paddock town centre gardens, The James Williams Healthy Living Centre, and the renovation of St John’s Church, among others.
By showcasing these to a national audience, the authority hopes to draw investors to Medway, raising awareness of its 14,000 businesses and economy worth £6.7 billion.
The UKREiiF is taking place at the Royal Armouries Museum and New Dock in Leeds City Centre from May 20-22.

Representatives from Kent County Council and Locate in Kent – an investment agency which aims to attract businesses to the region – will also be attending and promoting the county.
Cllr Harinder Mahil (Lab), portfolio holder for economic and social regeneration and inward investment, said: “The UKREiiF conference is a great opportunity for teams from around the country, and I hope that it prompts some exciting conversations about future regeneration plans.
“There’s so much going on in Medway, and it’s going to be great opportunity to meet some inspirational teams and tell everyone about the great work going on here.”
Locate in Kent chief executive Nick Fenton said: “We’re delighted to be joining Medway Council, Kent County Council and the Thames Estuary Growth Board at UKREiiF 2025 to showcase why Kent and Medway is the place in the UK to invest.
“This will be a great opportunity to help investors and businesses to seize opportunities to grow in the region.
“Together, we’ll be sharing updates on some exciting projects coming through and how Kent and Medway can lead the way for UK growth thanks to our strategic location as a county, the talent pool we have here and the potential for job creation in the years ahead.
“Medway will be key to driving that success – in areas including logistics, defence and the creative industries.”
