The Friedkin Group hand player a lifeline at AS Roma after confirming Everton departure

The Friedkin Group are building an exciting project at Everton, and the club looks to be their main priority.

Roma fans might not be too pleased with their owners putting their full focus on the Toffees and the Italian side have even warned Everton over The Friedkins.

But so far, there has been no reason to be concerned, with the operation under David Moyes running smoothly.

Adding to the positives, Everton have a healthy summer budget as the ownership are willing to transform the club this summer.

By doing this, players will leave, and the Everton owners have used a smart tactic with Roma to potentially benefit both clubs.

Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure handed a lifeline at Roma

With Abdoulaye Doucoure likely leaving Everton, the 32-year-old will be missed for his presence in big moments.

But it seems like the time is right, and although nothing is set in stone, Leon Osman spotted Doucoure crying after the Southampton game, signalling the end of his stay.

With this considered, The Friedkins might have a plan up their sleeve for the Malian international.

Roma showed previous interest in Doucoure, but that was with his future in the air; however, with him pointing towards the exit door, this transfer could happen.

Africa Foot reports that Roma are interested in Doucoure, but Leeds United are rivalling them for his signature.

The ultimate plan for Dan Friedkin is to look into taking Doucoure to their other owned club, but Leeds’ interest might pique the midfielder’s interest.

Doucoure’s teammate speaks out on Everton future

It’s been a successful five-year stay for Doucoure, who will be looking to move on this summer.

A contract is on the table, but with Roma now keen, this could work perfectly for The Friedkins’ clubs.

The reasons being that Everton can get Doucoure off their wage bill, with his excessive salary of £130,000 a week, and Roma can strengthen their regime over in Italy as they look to compete in Europe.

However, Doucoure’s Mali teammate Mahamadou N’Diaye has given insight to the aforementioned outlet and explained his preference this summer.

“He’s a player who knows the English Premier League well. He’s one of the most experienced players in the league. So, he could be a great addition to Leeds, who are also making their comeback to the top flight of English football,” N’Diaye said

“It all depends on the club’s interest, but also on the player’s desire to stay in England. I think he’ll think carefully about making the best choice for his career.”

It could be a saga that takes the headlines over the next month, but what is clear is that Doucoure only has until the end of June to convince Everton, should he stay.
